As Peter and Miles attempt to stop Venom, Peter is debilitated by a trace amount of the symbiote still within him. After Miles settles his differences with Li, the latter uses his powers to convert Peter’s symbiote traces into the Anti-Venom Symbiote and becoming him into Anti-Venom Spider-Man, which can destroy other symbiotes. Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York.
The majority of the side activities wind up feeling both mechanically and narratively pointless. An electric bike race feels silly enough in a Spider-Man game, but when the stakes are just “I need someone to try out my electric bike”, it’s hard not to think Miles and Peter have more pressing stuff to be getting on with. Far too much of what you’re doing feels like padding from the early days of open world games—there’s more inspiration here from Crackdown than there is from GTA V.
Gameplay-wise, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is very similar to the series’ previous installments. The fundamental difference is that this time both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are playable. The playable character changes during certain plot points, for example, if one of them isn’t able to arrive somewhere in time or when they need to split up. The only villains we get are Kraven, Venom, Sandman, The Lizard, and Mysterio (kind of). They set up The Chameleon and Carnage but they don’t actually do anything. And that’s not even mentioning side characters like Silver Sable who easily could’ve returned in some capacity.
CPU requirements take a small bump upward too, with an Intel Core i K or AMD Ryzen X, although 16GB is still the requirement for RAM at this point. A PC with these specs can switch to using the high graphics preset with ray tracing set to high, too. With these specs, you’ll be able to hit 1440p at 60fps using high graphics settings. Even with the dense world of Spider-Man 2, the quick traversal that is possible in-game, and how that impacts the loading time of the environments, the RAM requirements still stick to 16GB at 1440p, keeping it in line with the PS5’s own specs. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has almost identical specs to Horizon Forbidden West, another PS5 game ported to PC. While older rigs can handle this game at 720p, you’ll need one of the best graphics card picks from our extensive buying guide if you’re going to be pushing for the highest graphical presets at high resolutions with ray tracing enabled.

However, if you’re still playing on your potato PC of old, you might just be able to handle 720p gameplay, giving just about every type of gamer the chance to swing around the rooftops. Those specs are roughly four to five years old at this point, so anything older might not be good enough here. With a PC like this, you’ll be able to shoot for 30fps gameplay at 1,280 x 720 using the very low graphics preset. It’ll be just about playable, but it won’t be as graphically appealing, and that’s also a low resolution.
